06. Enrol people into a course
Enrol people into a course
This is for admins who have a course ready and now need real learners in it. By the end you will have run the enrolment wizard end to end and put a group of people into a course with a start date and a due date.
Before you start
Finish article 4, Lessons and courses: how content works, so you have a course to enrol into.
Have your people in the platform (article 2) and, if you want to enrol by group, your teams and managers set up (article 3).
Know who you are enrolling and by when. The wizard asks you for both.

The steps
Open Content & Courses in the admin sidebar, then Your Courses. You will see the courses in your organisation.
Open the course you want to enrol people into. This takes you to that single course's page.
Click Enrol People. The enrolment wizard opens.
Choose your audience. You can enrol individual people, teams, managers, or cohorts. Picking People gives you the list of individual learners to work from.
Select the learners to enrol by ticking them in the list. Your selection is carried through to the next step.
Click Set a date and set the start and due dates. Enrolment can be one-time or recurring, so choose the pattern that matches how often this course needs to be done.
When you are ready, hit Review & Launch. Your learners are enrolled and notified straight away.
What you should see now
The wizard has closed and the people you selected are enrolled in the course, with the start and due dates you set. They have been notified, so the course is now live for them rather than sitting waiting on you.
Common questions
Do I have to enrol people one by one?
No. Individual people is only one of the audience options. You can also enrol by team, by manager, or by cohort, which is usually faster and stays closer to how your organisation is actually structured.
What if this course needs doing every year?
Set the enrolment to recurring instead of one-time when you set the dates, rather than re-running the wizard by hand each cycle.
Do learners find out, or do I have to tell them?
They are notified as soon as you launch the enrolment, so you do not need to send a separate announcement for them to know it exists.
