Creating and managing Learning Programs

Group courses into a named learning path — how to create, find and manage Programs, and what is still rolling out.

🧭 What is a Learning Program?

A Program is a named container that groups several courses into one learning path — so instead of pointing people at four separate courses, you point them at one program like Leadership Essentials.

Programs are set up by admins under Content & Courses. Right now you can create programs, give them a title, description and thumbnail, and edit, duplicate or delete them. Adding courses to a program and enrolling learners are still rolling out — see What's still rolling out below so you know what to expect on screen.

📍 Where to find Programs

Go to Admin > Content & Courses > Programs.

The Programs page lists every program in your workspace with a Search programs box at the top.

➕ Create a program

  1. On the Programs page, select Create Program.
  2. On the Details tab, type a Title. This is the only required field — Create Program stays greyed out until you enter one.
  3. Optionally add a description in Add a description to explain who the program is for.
  4. Optionally select Add Thumbnail to give the program a cover image.
  5. Select Create Program.

Your new program opens on its own page, ready for you to manage.

📋 What the Programs list shows

Each row on the Programs page shows:

  • Program — the program's title
  • Learners — how many people are enrolled
  • Courses — how many courses the program contains
  • Updated — when the program was last changed
  • Status — where the program is in its lifecycle, for example Ready to Launch

Use the Search programs box to jump to a program by name.

🗂️ Inside a program

Select a program from the list to open it. At the top you'll see its title and description, a count of courses and learners, and its status.

There are two tabs:

  • Courses — the courses that make up the program, with an Enrolment and Due date column for each. A new program shows No courses in this program yet.
  • Enrolments — the people working through the program and how far they've got. Before anyone is enrolled it shows No learners enrolled yet.

✏️ Edit, duplicate or delete a program

Open the ⋯ actions menu — it's on each row of the Programs list, and also at the top of the program's own page. It has three options:

  • Edit — reopens the Details form so you can change the title, description or thumbnail. Save your changes with Save Program.
  • Duplicate — creates a copy of the program you can adapt.
  • Delete — removes the program.

🚧 What's still rolling out

Two buttons on a program's page are visible but not yet active. Hover over either one and 5Mins tells you why:

  • Preview — "Available once the learner program page ships." This will show you the program the way a learner sees it.
  • Enrol People — "Enrolling people is coming soon." This will let you enrol learners, teams or cohorts into the whole program at once.

There is also no way to add courses to a program yet, which is why the Courses tab stays empty and the Courses count reads 0.

In the meantime, enrol people into each course individually — see Enrolling users into a Course — and set your programs up now so they're ready when the rest ships.

❓ FAQ

Is a program the same as a course? No. A course is the training itself — lessons, assessments and resources. A program is a wrapper that bundles several courses into one path.

Is a program the same as a cohort? No. A cohort is a reusable group of people; a program is a bundle of courses.

Can learners see my programs yet? Not yet. The learner-facing program page hasn't shipped, which is why Preview is greyed out. Programs you create now are only visible to admins.

Why is my program's Courses count 0? Because adding courses to a program isn't available yet. The count will fill in once that ships.

What is the Status column for? It tracks where each program is in its lifecycle. A newly created program shows Ready to Launch.

Who can create programs? Programs sit in the admin area, so you need admin access to your 5Mins workspace to see and manage them.
