Map custom fields to your HR system

Keep your custom fields accurate and up to date automatically by mapping them to fields in your HR system. Once set up, the values you care about, such as department code, location, or cost centre, flow straight into 5Mins with every sync, so you never have to maintain them by hand.

  • No manual upkeep. Your custom fields update themselves whenever your HR system syncs, so they stay current as people change teams, roles, or locations.
  • One source of truth. Your HR system stays the system of record. 5Mins reflects it, so your data lines up with what your HR team already maintains.
  • Sharper segmentation and reporting. Because the values are reliable, you can confidently filter people, assign learning, and report on the groups that matter to you.
  • Less room for error. Removing the manual step means fewer typos, gaps, and out-of-date values.

How it works

When your HR system syncs with 5Mins, each mapped field carries its value across to the matching custom field on every person's profile. The sync is one-way: values flow from your HR system into 5Mins, and 5Mins never writes back to your HR system.

You set up your custom fields once in 5Mins, then decide which HR system field should populate each one. From there, the mapping does the work on every sync.

Getting it set up

This is an on-demand feature that our team enables for you. To turn it on, contact your Customer Success manager. They'll work with you to confirm which custom fields you want to keep in sync and map each one to the right field in your HR system.

Note: This feature builds on your existing HRIS integration and your custom fields. If you haven't connected your HR system yet, your Customer Success manager can help you set that up first.
