Lesson visibility explained

Every lesson in 5Mins has a visibility status that controls whether learners can see it. There are two statuses:

Lesson visibility controls who can see a lesson, and 5Mins manages it in two places. First, for the curated library of ready-made lessons, open Account & Settings.
The Skill lessons visibility tab lists every curated skill with its status — 'All lessons visible' or 'All lessons hidden'.
Use 'Change lessons visibility' to hide a curated skill's lessons from your organisation. It won't affect anyone else, it's reversible anytime, and changes can take up to 10 minutes to take effect.
Second, the lessons your own organisation uploads live in Your Content — each one has its own visibility status.
Open any lesson's actions menu (⋯) to manage it.
Choose Hide to take a lesson out of circulation — it stays in your library and on its courses, but learners can't see or open it. Publish brings it back. This only controls visibility — it never deletes the lesson.

Published - The lesson is live. Learners enrolled in a course that contains the lesson can open and complete it.
Hidden - The lesson is not shown to learners. Hidden lessons stay in your content library and on the course, but learners won't see or be able to open them.

Published vs hidden

Use Hidden when a lesson isn't ready for learners yet, when you want to temporarily take it out of circulation, or when you're reworking it. Switch it to Published when you're ready for learners to access it. In your content list, hidden lessons are marked so you can tell at a glance which ones aren't live.

Changing a lesson's status doesn't delete it or remove it from a course; it only controls whether learners can see it. A hidden lesson that sits inside a course is simply skipped by learners until you publish it.

Hiding curated library content

Alongside the lessons your organisation creates, 5Mins offers a curated library of ready-made content. As an admin you can choose which of these curated lessons are available to your organisation from your account settings. Hiding a curated lesson removes it from view for your learners without affecting the lesson for anyone else, and you can make it visible again at any time.

What it means for learners

Learners only ever see published lessons that are visible to your organisation.
Hidden lessons don't appear in courses, search, or a learner's content, and they don't count towards course completion while hidden.
Publishing a previously hidden lesson makes it immediately available to learners who have access to its course.
