03. Read the wider reports

Read the wider reports: engagement, activation, insights, leaderboard

This is for admins who can read course completion and now want the whole-organisation picture. By the end you'll know what each Reports tab answers, and be able to filter and export any of them as a CSV.

Course Completion, from Week 1, answers "how is this course landing?". The other Reports tabs zoom out: are people actually watching lessons, did the people you invited ever sign in, who is pulling ahead, and how does one learner look on their own. This is the last article in the course, so it also ties the whole thing together.

Before you start

  • Be comfortable with Reports β†’ Course Completion from Week 1. This article covers the tabs either side of it, not that one again.
  • Have people invited and enrolled, so the reports have something real to show.

The Reports tabs

Under Reports you'll find five tabs: Engagement, People Insights, Course Completion, Leaderboard and Activation. You already know Course Completion. Here is what the other four are for.

Engagement, Activation and Leaderboard

  1. Open Reports β†’ Engagement for a company-wide view of lessons watched, quizzes and skills. This is your "is anyone actually using it?" tab.
  2. Filter by team, date range or region to narrow the view, then export any report as a CSV with Download Report.
  3. Open the Activation tab to track invites versus signups: who you invited and who actually joined. Break it down by team, cohort, region or a custom field.
  4. Open the Leaderboard tab to rank top performers by average learning points, with trend arrows showing who is improving.

People Insights: one learner at a time

Where Engagement is the org-wide roll-up, People Insights is the per-person view of each learner's engagement across your organisation.

  5. Click a learner's name for their full engagement report, or use Download report to export everything as CSV

What you should see now

  • You can move between Engagement, People Insights, Leaderboard and Activation and say what each one answers.
  • Engagement is filtered to the team, date range or region you care about, and you've exported it as a CSV.
  • People Insights shows one learner's skill points, lessons, time, quizzes and jewels, and clicking a name opens their full report.

Common questions

Which tab tells me if my invites worked?Activation. It tracks invites versus signups, so it is the one to check when you've invited a group and want to know who actually joined.

Engagement and People Insights sound similar. What's the difference?Engagement is the company-wide roll-up of lessons, quizzes and skills. People Insights is the same kind of data seen one learner at a time, which is what you want before a one-to-one.

Can I export these like I export Learning Records?Yes. Each report has a Download Report option that exports the current, filtered view as a CSV.

You've finished the crash course

That's the whole programme. You can invite your people, organise them into teams and managers, build courses and enrol the right learners, read completion data, automate enrolment so it runs itself, get the underlying records out for an audit, and read the wider reports that show how your organisation is really doing. Everything an admin needs to run 5Mins day to day is now in your hands. Come back to any article whenever you need a refresher, and enjoy watching the learning land.
