Team Managers

A Team Manager is someone who oversees a group of learners and can monitor their learning progress. This article explains what a Team Manager is and what they can do in 5Mins.

What Is a Team Manager?

A person becomes a Team Manager when one or more learners are assigned to them as direct reports. Direct reports are set through the Reports To field when inviting or editing a person, or by using Change Manager from the person's three-dot menu in Admin β†’ People (or from a team's members table).

Managers can only see reporting data for the people assigned to them. They do not automatically see everyone in their team or company.

What a Team Manager Can Do

Team Managers get access to the My Team dashboard in the learner app, where they can review learning across their direct reports. From My Team, a manager can view:

  • Their total number of direct reports

  • Overall performance across their direct reports

  • Skills distribution

  • Course progress and the team course tracker

  • Shared resources insights

  • Individual learner reports, including certificates, course progress, engagement, and skills

Managers can filter these reports by All Direct Reports or an individual person, and by a Last 6 Months or Last 12 Months timeframe.

Content and Courses

Team Managers also have access to the Knowledge Hub in the learner app, where they can create and manage courses and lessons and enrol people across the account β€” broader content capabilities than a Subject Expert, who manages only their own content.

To assign managers and direct reports, see Set Up Managers and Direct Reports. For an overview of all roles, see Admins, Managers, and Subject Experts.
