How to Create Your Account and Complete Onboarding

This article is for learners signing in to 5Mins for the first time. It covers creating your account, verifying your email, and the short setup steps that personalise your learning. It takes about 5 minutes.

Logging In

When you visit app.5mins.ai, you'll see a login page with "Hello 👋" at the top and the message "Log in or Sign up to continue learning."

Choose the appropriate option:

• Login - if you already have an account
• Sign up - if you need to create an account

On the next screen you'll see Welcome back! 👋 (log in) or Let's get started! 👋 (sign up). We suggest using your work email. If you were invited, the screen shows You're invited! Sign up with: followed by your invited email address - sign up with that address so you join the right organisation.

You can log in using:

• Continue with Google
• Continue with Microsoft (Outlook and Hotmail accounts work too)
• Continue with Apple (in the 5Mins mobile app)
• Log In with Mobile Number (or Sign Up with Mobile Number)
• Continue with email - enter your email address, then your password

If your organisation uses Enterprise SSO, entering your work email under Continue with email takes you to your company's sign-in page instead of asking for a password.

If you're asked for a Company Access Code, enter the code your administrator gave you.

Forgot your password? If you use email and password login, there's a Forgot your password? link on the password screen that will send a password reset email to your registered email address.

Email Verification (Email/Password Users Only)

If you sign up using email and password, you'll be taken to a verification screen that shows "We've sent a verification email to [your email address]" and asks you to "Please verify your email to continue."

On this screen you can:

• Click "Resend Email" if you don't receive the verification email
• Click "Continue" to check if your email has been verified
• Use the quick links to open Gmail or Outlook directly

Common Issues:

Verification email not delivered:

• Check your spam/junk folders
• Wait 5-10 minutes before requesting a resend
• Ensure your email provider isn't blocking emails from 5Mins (ask your IT team to check the Your Complete Whitelisting Guide article)
• Try the "Resend Email" button

Stuck on verify email page:

• Click "Continue" after verifying your email in another tab
• The system automatically checks verification status
• Try refreshing the page if "Continue" doesn't work
• Clear your browser cache if issues persist

Onboarding Process

After email verification (or immediately after SSO login), you'll go through these setup steps:

1. Let's get started! - Enter your first name and last name. If your organisation is already on 5Mins, its name is shown under Company and can't be changed; if you're the first person from your company, enter your company name
2. Your Role - Choose your role, then answer How experienced are you? and pick your function
3. Just a few more details - Only shown if your organisation needs them, for example your region, team, or Employment start date
4. Your Personalised Upskilling Plan - Review the hard and soft skills we've picked for your role
5. Tools & Life Skills - Pick the tools you use at work and the life skills you'd like to develop, for personalised recommendations. Select at least one tool and one life skill to continue
6. Start Learning - On the last step, click Start Learning. You'll see a short Setting things up... screen while 5Mins picks your first courses, then you're taken in, ready to start learning. If setup doesn't finish, click Try again

Onboarding Notes:

• You can go back to previous steps but cannot skip steps
• If your onboarding gets interrupted, you can continue from where you left off when you return to the session or log in
• You can change all these settings later in your Profile settings
• Some steps may be hidden depending on your organisation's configuration (for example, if your role has already been set for you)

After Setup

Once onboarding is complete, you'll have access to:

• For You: Daily personalised recommendations based on your selected role and skills
• Your Workspace: Courses assigned to you or courses you've enrolled in yourself

If your organisation has turned off For You, you'll land on Your Workspace instead.
