Subject Experts
A Subject Expert is someone who contributes learning content to your 5Mins account. This article explains what the Subject Expert role is and what it lets a person do.

Steps shown in this video
- Subject Experts are managed in Admin → People
- The Subject Experts tab lists everyone who can create and manage content
- To make someone a Subject Expert, find them on the All People tab
- Open that person's three-dot menu
- Choose 'Make user Subject Expert' to grant Knowledge Hub access for creating lessons and courses. To revoke it, pick 'Remove Subject Expert rights' from the same menu.
What Is a Subject Expert?
A Subject Expert is a content contributor — typically someone with specialist knowledge you want to capture and share with the rest of the company. Unlike a Team Manager, the Subject Expert role is focused on creating and managing content rather than overseeing people.
Assigning the Subject Expert Role
Go to Admin → People.
Find the person and open their three-dot menu.
Select Make user Subject Expert.
To revoke the role, open the same menu and choose Remove Subject Expert rights.
What a Subject Expert Can Do
Subject Experts gain access to the Knowledge Hub in the learner app, including the Content Studio section. From there they can:
Create lessons — upload their own videos or PDFs, or add external links, and optionally generate AI quizzes.
Create and manage courses — build courses from lessons and other content, and configure course settings.
Manage their own content — a Subject Expert manages the content and courses they author. They can also enrol learners into courses they create.
Subject Experts do not have the My Team manager dashboard or admin settings access. Those capabilities belong to Team Managers and Administrators respectively.
