What Are Teams?

A team is a named group of people in your account. Every person can belong to a team, and each team can have one or more managers and any number of members. Teams give you a simple way to organise people by department, function, or location, and they power filtering and reporting throughout the admin area.

Creating a Team

  1. Go to Admin β†’ Teams.

  2. Click Create team.

  3. Enter a team name. You can always change it later.

  4. Save to create the team.

Once created, the team appears in the Teams list alongside its manager and member counts.

Managing a Team

The Teams list shows every team with three columns: Team name, Managers, and Members. Select a team to open its details page, where you can:

  • Add people to the team β€” use Add people to team to search for and add members.

  • Rename the team β€” use the team's three-dot menu and choose to edit the team name.

  • Delete the team β€” use the three-dot menu and choose Delete team. This removes the team but does not delete the people in it from your account.

From the members table, each person has a three-dot menu with options to:

  • Change manager β€” set or update who that person reports to.

  • Remove from team β€” take the person out of this team. This does not remove them from your company account.

How Teams Are Used

  • Assigning people on invite β€” when you invite someone (individually or by CSV), you can assign them to a team so they're organised from day one.

  • Filtering and reporting β€” teams are used as a filter across the admin area, making it easy to view people, enrolments, and progress for a specific group.

  • Manager assignment β€” teams surface who manages whom, and managers can review their group's learning from the My Team dashboard.

To assign managers and direct reports, see Set Up Managers and Direct Reports. To learn what a manager can do, see Team Managers.
