See what's landing: course completion

This is for admins who have enrolled people and now need to know whether the learning is actually happening. By the end you will be able to read the Course Completion report, focus it on the group you care about, and export it as a CSV.

Before you start

  • Finish article 5, Enrol people into a course. Completion data only exists where there are enrolments behind it.

  • Give your learners a little time after launch. A report run minutes after enrolment will show almost everyone as in progress or not started, which tells you nothing yet.

Steps shown in this video

  1. Head to Admin β†’ Reports for org-wide learning analytics

  2. Open the Course Completion tab to see how everyone is progressing

  3. Filter by course, category, team, region, date or custom field to focus the report

  4. Break the data down by course, category, team or region to spot where completion is lagging

  5. Sort by completion rate or overdue learners to bring the problems to the top

  6. Every bar splits into completed, in progress, at risk and overdue β€” View Learners shows you exactly who

  7. And Download Report takes the whole picture away as a dated CSV

  8. That's your completion data, ready to share

The steps

  1. Open Reports in the admin sidebar. This is where the organisation-wide learning analytics live.

  2. Open the Course Completion tab. You will see how everyone is progressing, summarised at the top in four tiles: Completed, In progress, At risk, and Overdue. Each tile shows a percentage and the number of enrolments behind it.

  3. Use Filters to narrow the report. You can filter by course, category, team, region, date, or custom field, so you are looking at one population rather than the whole organisation.

  4. Use Breakdown by to change how the data is grouped: by course, category, team, or region. This is how you spot where completion is lagging rather than only that it is.

  5. Use Sort by to bring the problems to the top, for example by completion rate or by overdue learners.

  6. Read the rows. Each row shows a completion bar and the number of enrolments behind it, plus separate At Risk! and Overdue counts, so a single row tells you both how far along a group is and how much of it is in trouble.

  7. Click View Learners on a row to see exactly who sits behind those numbers, rather than only the percentage.

  8. Click Download Report, at the right of the Breakdown by and Sort by row, to export the report as a dated CSV. It downloads immediately.

What you should see now

You are on Reports β†’ Course Completion, filtered and broken down to the slice you care about, with the worst performers sorted to the top. You know which learners sit behind a struggling row, and you have a dated CSV in your downloads.

Common questions

How do I see who is behind a number?

Use View Learners on the row. The tiles and bars tell you the size of the problem, and View Learners tells you the names, which is what you need before you send a nudge or talk to a manager.

Which control should I reach for first?

Filters first to cut the population down, then Breakdown by to group it, then Sort by to surface the worst rows. Doing it in that order stops you sorting a report that is still showing the whole organisation.

Why is a team showing a lot of at risk rather than overdue?

At risk and overdue are separate segments of the same bar. At risk is the part you can still do something about, so it is the more useful column to act on when you are choosing where to send a nudge.
